General Rules - Games are a best of 5 sets. Each set will occur on a new map.
- Sets are won by the first player to reach 5 kills.
- After each kill you will be switched between teams (terrorists/counter terrorists) to ensure fairness
- After one player reaches 5 kills the round will end. Your stats will be shown on the screen.
- Before the next round begins there will be a brief period until the system collects all the necessary data from the previous round. Then the map switch will occur and you will automatically be taken to the next map.
- The duration of each round is 5 minutes. If a kill is not registered within the 5 minute round one player will be awarded the kill.
- The game type will be 1v1 deathmatch. Players must kill their opponent in order to register a fair win – USE OF BOMBS AND HOSTAGE RESCUES CONSITUTE CHEATING. ANY HOSTAGE RESCUES OR BOMB PLANTING CAN AND WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION FORFEIT OF THE OFFENDING PLAYER.
- Once a player has won 3 sets you will be removed from the game server.
- Once the game is complete you will be asked to fill out feedback on your match. You will find this feedback message in your account Inbox. If you suspect your opponent was cheating, if your opponent did not show up for the match, or if your opponent disconnected during the game please notify us using this message. YOU MUST REPORT CHEATING WITHIN 3 HOURS OF THE GAME (OR BEFORE THE TRANSITION PERIOD OF A TOURNAMENT ROUND). IF YOU FAIL TO REPORT CHEATING WITHIN THIS TIMEFRAME WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REVIEW THE GAME. THE GAME RESULT WILL STAND.
Tournament Structure - The tournament will be single elimination. If a player loses a match she will be removed from the tournament with the winner proceeding to the next round
- Each tournament round will last 2 days or 48 hours
- Matches will automatically be scheduled towards the front end of the round. This scheduled match is a recommended match time and it is highly encouraged that players make every effort possible to play their match at this time.
- Players are highly encouraged to play their matches on the first day of the tournament round if possible in case complications arise. If players choose to schedule a match close to the round transition time, we may be unable to make modifications, review cheat complaints, or take any other remedial action if problems occur during game play.
- Players will be able to see the tournament schedule under the “Tournaments” section of the website and their games will be visible in the “Schedule” section of their accounts.
- You will be able to see the next game you will be playing within 5 hours of a win
- Players are encouraged to check the tournament schedule and their personal schedule regularly
Match Re-scheduling - The tournament schedule will be available prior to the tournament launch date
- If you must re-schedule a match you must request it with your opponent using the official re-schedule mechanism on TitanStrike. We do not encourage the re-scheduling of matches from recommended game times.
- Re-schedule requests must occur and be accepted prior to one hour before the match start time (We highly recommend any re-schedule requests to be made as soon as you find a scheduling conflict, as it is unlikely that your opponent will receive notice and have time to accept on very short notice)
- It is the right of any player to refuse a re-schedule request.
Attendance - Attendance is mandatory and failure to arrive on time for an official tournament match for any reason will result in forfeit and disqualification.
- Players must be logged into the game server by the official match start time. Players may log into the game server a full 10 minutes prior to the official game start time. If a player attempts to log in late the server will not allow access.
- Failure to promptly arrive for a game will result in the offending player being disqualified from the tournament.
- Players are expected to play the entire match, disconnecting from the game server for ANY reason will result in disqualification
- In order for the system to officially recognize that you have officially attended a game you must remain in the game server (even if your opponent fails to appear for the game) until after the official game start time. If after the server goes live you notice that your opponent has not appeared for the game it is recommended that you remain in the game server for as long as possible to ensure that the system will award you with a win because of your opponent’s no show. We recommend that you remain in the server and allow the game to play out until after the first round is complete.
Wild Card Selection - Contestants who wish to be considered for a wild card position at the finals event will be asked to complete 2 essay questions covering topics related to the video game industry.
- If a contestant fails to submit at least two essay responses she will not be considered for a wild card position.
- These topics will be sent to all contestants via email and will be posted on the www.missvideogame.com website.
- Miss Video Game officials, as well as industry judges will review the answers submitted by contestants as well as their overall participation throughout the event. Some consideration will also be given to the contestant’s performance in the online tournament round, but this factor will not have a final bearing on the contestant’s ability to be selected as a wild card contestant.
- Contestants must submit their essays by no later than 12:00 pm PST Tuesday September 25, 2007 in order to be considered.
- Essay responses exceeding 250 words will NOT be accepted or considered.
