Contest Details

The "Miss Video Game Contest" is meant to showcase female gamers and to spread gaming among women worldwide. As such, we are accepting entries from any woman over the age of 16 who has ever played an electronic game. We want all gamers because gaming is about more than just hard-core fanatics; it’s about creating an environment where anything is possible and newcomers are welcome.

This contest is operated by Miss Video Game Incorporated, a federally registered Company in Canada.

Here are the details of the first ever Miss Video Game contest:

In the spirit of presenting a professional competition, the following rules have been implemented and will be upheld at all times throughout the Miss Video Game contest.

  1. Contestants must be females of at least 18 years of age. Or be over 16 and have a parent's consent to join and participate in contest.
  1. All contestants are responsible for attaining and assuring that all documentation required by the Canadian Government for that contestant to travel to Montreal is in line and accurate. This may include passports, visas or other required documentation. Contestants are advised to contact the Canadian Consular or government office nearest them.   2. Miss Video Game Incorporated, its staff, affiliates and partners assume no responsibility for any contestant that enters the Miss Video Game 2007 contest illegally, fraudulently, or under false pretences or a false identity.
  3. Cheating in any respect will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the Miss Video Game 2007 competition. Cheating will be deemed to be any fraudulent, misleading, or unsportsmanlike conduct during the Miss Video Game 2007 competition. Miss Video Game Incorporated staff, its legal representatives, affiliates and partners will have the final say on any ruling or decision made to disqualify a contestant due to cheating.
  4. Contestants may not post any photos containing nudity or crude sexual suggestiveness on the www.missvideogame.com website. Contestants are reminded that this contest is meant to appeal to a large age range and that they should conduct themselves as positive role models to younger gamers. Miss Video Game Incorporated, its staff, partners, affiliates assume no responsibility for any offensive material, coarse language, pictures containing nudity or crude sexual suggestiveness posted by any contestant on the www.missvideogame.com website. Miss Video Game Incorporated, its staff, affiliates, representatives, and partners maintain the right to remove any material posted by a contestant that is deemed offensive for any reason.
  5. Contestants may not post any copyrighted images, materials, trademarks or related materials in their profiles or anywhere else on the www.missvideogame.com website or forum, nor may they submit copyrighted materials for posting by Miss Video Game staff, unless prior written consent of the copyright holder has been obtained and sent as evidence of permission to Miss Video Game staff. By posting materials or pictures on the www.missvideogame.com website or forum contestants warrant that the material is not copyrighted or that if the material is under copyright protection, that they have obtained the permission of the copyright holder to use and post the material to the www.missvideogame.com website and/or forum.
  6. All trademarks, logos, intellectual property, contest format, contest software, online voting software on the website are property of MissVideoGame.com.
  7. All information and images submitted to Miss Video Game becomes the copyrighted property of MissVideoGame.com.
  8. Contestants must be available to compete in the final rounds in Montreal Canada in June 2007.
  9. Contestants that are unable to attend any Miss Video Game 2007 match will forfeit that match. Contestants that are unable to attend any Miss Video Game 2007 event, including the finals tournament in Montreal Canada, will be disqualified from the Miss Video Game 2007 competition. Disqualified contestants will be replaced in the following manner that applies to the situation and :

3. GENERAL RULES

3.1 All Prize claims are subject to verification by the Contest organizers and/or their designated representatives. All purchase transaction receipts obtained through unauthorized sources or which are illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged or irregular in any way, are automatically void. Miss Video Game Incorporated will be the sole and final reference source in validating Prize claims.

3.2  The Contest is open to all customers of Miss Video Game Incorporated, except employees of, a member of the immediate family of an employee of, or retiree of, or domiciled with an employee of Miss Video Game Incorporated, or any of its subsidiary companies, retailers, franchisees, agents, associates, dealers, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies, or the Contest organizers.

3.3 Miss Video Game Incorporated will be the sole and final reference source in validating the Prize claim.

3.4 All surveys, photos, videos and entries become the copyright property of Miss Video Game Incorporated. Any entry received that is illegible, incomplete or incorrectly submitted will not be eligible for a specific prize.  Neither Miss Video Game Incorporated, Miss Video Game Incorporated retailers, or any organization involved in organizing the Contest shall be responsible for any Contest documentation that is unreadable, illegible, incomplete, lost, stolen, misdirected, not received, destroyed, or delayed for any reason whatsoever.

3.5 Miss Video Game Incorporated and Contest organizers are not liable for faulty computer components, software, or links, the loss or nonexistence of communications capability, or faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions that render a Contest entrant ineligible for the Contest. Miss Video Game Incorporated and Contest organizers are also not liable for any damage or loss that may be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the downloading of any software or form or the transmission of any information with regard to entering the Contest.

3.6 Miss Video Game Incorporated and/or the Contest organizers reserve the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, at their sole discretion, in the event a computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, or any other occurrence beyond their control corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, or normal operation of the Contest, subject to the approval of the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Quebec for Quebec residents.

3.7 By entering, Contest entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of Miss Video Game Incorporated and the MVG Contest organizers, which are final. Miss Video Game Incorporated will not be responsible for cheating in contest. To make certain, Anti-Cheat software has been developed and will be used during online gameplay but Miss Video Game Incorporated makes no express consent to guaranteeing an anti-cheat environment. Miss Video Game Incorporated reserves the right to change or alter any of the Contest Rules and Regulations or to cancel the Contest at any time. Except as specifically provided in the Contest Rules and Regulations, all Prizes must be accepted as awarded, and are not transferable or convertible to cash. By accepting a Prize, winners agree to the use of their name, address and/or photograph and subsequent media, without payment, in any subsequent publicity or advertising carried out by Miss Video Game Incorporated and/or its advertising agents.

3.8 No purchase is necessary. To enter, complete the survey within twenty-four (24) hours of registering your Username on http://www.missvideogame.com. No purchase receipt is required. Maximum one entry per person. Entries must be submitted no later than December 31st, 2006. Limit of one (1) entry per person. Winners will be notified on how to claim their prize via email.

3.9 The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws. The personal information provided to enter the Contest will be used only to administer the Contest, promote contest and partner sites and for no other reason.

3.10 For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

3.11 Each winner agrees to release Miss Video Game Incorporated and the Contest organizers from any and all liability regarding prizes. Winners agree to sign a liability waiver form to this effect. No substitutions or cash alternatives will be allowed, except as specifically provided in the Contest Rules and Regulations. To be eligible to win, a selected Contest entrant must reside where she is eligible to win, otherwise the prize will be put back in the prize pool.
